Prior to placing a cosmetic product in the market, it mandatory for the company to put up product information on the online notification system set up by the EU Cosmetics Regulatory Authority. The online notification system called Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP) was set up to ensure that all products that are being pit in the EU market have been systematically notified.
Only one notification per product has to be put up in CPNP to ensure that the product can be placed in the EU market and 31 countries in it.
The Responsible Person for the brand and its products is mandated to submit the information about the product that is being launched in the market through CPNP before beginning the product placement and marketing. The notification is sent out electronically to the European Commission. The notification has to be done once for each product.
The brand or the RP for the brand has to put up the following information about the product to be launched.
